Director of Business Development
Pace, a leading global energy and carbon consulting firm with headquarters in the Washington DC metropolitan area and offices in Houston, London, Moscow, Columbia, New York, San Diego and Sacramento seeks a range of energy professionals for its rapidly growing offices around the world. Pace is currently seeking a Director of Business Development.
As a Director, Business Development for Pace Global Energy Services (Pace) Energy&Carbon Management Practice, you will be expected to lead Paces sales efforts focused on those responsible for Energy Management, Energy Procurement, Carbon Management and Sustainability within commercial, industrial and governmental markets. In this capacity, you will be expected to perform the following functions:
- Assume lead responsibility for the development of contacts and sales prospects for Paces Energy & Carbon Management Services and related program offerings;
- Efficiently develop and qualify leads, while maintaining a transparent view of the sales funnel through regular population of Vision (Paces customer relationship management system);
- Represent Pace professionally and responsively in the marketplace;
- Provide leadership and experience in the ongoing development of our sales process;
- Provide market and strategic input to support ongoing improvements to our strategic sales approach, product definition, pitch and plans;
- Perform research, develop sales presentations and write proposals, working with Pace personnel as appropriate and available, to facilitate sales through effective, professionally packaged information;
- Work closely with Paces Senior Management on proposal pricing and collaboration on sales activities;
- Provide input into Paces marketing processes to aid in sales;
- Work independently and in partnership with the Energy & Carbon Management sales team to achieve sales goals;
- Apply a high level of energy and focus on the sales process and to drive sales closings;
- Maintain a high level of communication, transparency and accountability while working remotely;
- Travel as necessary to achieve sales goals, including making frequent visits to the Fairfax, VA office to ensure effective communication and collaboration on relevant sales and marketing activities.
Qualifications
- 10 years business to business direct sales experience in the energy, management consulting, finance or software industries.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a history of presenting to CXO, VP and Director level executives within large commercial, industrial, and governmental organizations.
- Proficient with MS Office and Internet applications. High level of comfort with information technology.
