Green Information Technology
The IT industry is busy going green and has been working at it for longer that anyone may have previously thought. Companies like Cisco, Intel, IBM, Google, and many others to include new start-ups like SciCortex and CherryPal, are all working on making themselves more green, or making innovative technology to work within the green sector like creating applications to work alongside a new smart energy grid.
This means that many jobs in this category are really the same as any other IT position. There is still the need for software, firmware, hardware and system engineers; systems analysts; and even web application developers.
In fact, many people who already work in the IT industry and who wish to move to a green career don't even have to change jobs!
Again, there are many marketing and sales roles within these various companies so that you don't have to run out and get a Computer Science or engineering degree to move into the green IT arena.
